Studio Art

Studio Art is a department within the Faculty of Visual and Performing Arts. Other departments include Textile Arts, Illustration/Design: Elements and Applications (IDEA), and Commercial Animation.
The Studio Art program is committed to excellence in art education. Students entering the program are provided with a thorough foundation in the fundamentals of art making, visual analysis and creative problem-solving. Disciplines include Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Sculpture, Ceramics, and Media Art. In addition to studio practice, students study Art History, English, and Contemporary Art Practices. The Studio Art program works to balance and integrate studio practice, creative action and critical thinking.
