Bio

Peter James Holden (MBA, University of British Columbia, 1974) studied to obtain his first two degrees from 1969 to 1974. He took a breather from his educational endeavours and worked for five years , primarily as a Special Assistant to Federal Cabinet Ministers in Ottawa. He then obtained his law degree from the University of Ottawa.

Holden returned to BC, attended to his Bar Admission exams and was called to the BC Bar in 1983. Since then he has practiced primarily corporate/commercial law and became a partner with the law firm of MacKay, Turlock and Holden in downtown Vancouver.

He began teaching par-time in the evenings at Capilano College, as it then was. He left the partnership and moved his law practice to his home. This move allowed him to practice law on a part-time basis and teach full-time.

Holden teaches primarily the Canadian Business Law I and II courses, and International Trade and Law, although he has taught Management 101 and Entrepreneurship, as well as the Risk Management course in Tourism.

Holden lives in Gibsons, B.C. with his wife, Kathleen, his two bright and beautiful daughters, Bridget and Alexandra, and a tree frog named Fogerty who lives in their barbeque.
